Problem
The customer app was native Android and had to move to Flutter without losing the catalogue, ordering, and hyper-local behaviour the marketplace runs on.
Approach
Migrated module by module, rebuilding product and order management, a server-driven home page, and the navigation graph on the way across.
Outcome
Qualitative
The customer side of the marketplace: order any home service, save locations, track the job. The engineering story is the platform shift — native Android to Flutter, rebuilding product and order management, a server-driven home page, and the navigation graph on the way, with offline-first caching throughout and hyper-local matching on Google Maps underneath it.
What I did
- Moved the customer app from native Android to Flutter, rebuilding product and order management, a server-driven dynamic home page, and a complex navigation flow, with offline-first caching throughout.
- Built the hyper-local system on Google Maps — location-scoped catalogue, address capture, and provider matching by service area.
- Instrumented marketing event tracking (Firebase, CleverTap, Facebook app events), Firebase and OneSignal push, and dynamic links routing campaign traffic straight to the right screen.
- Applied deliberate design patterns across the app — Singleton, Factory, Adapter, Strategy — with clean-code practice and multi-threaded background work behind the UI.
